Q. Can I upgrade the framework on my building?
A.
You may wish to upgrade the framework of your building from 75mm x 50mm (3” x 2”) to 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”). This sturdy upgrade is only £95 per 3.6m x 3.6m (12’ x 12’) unit.

(STANDARD ON THE ELITE RANGE)

Q. Can the roof of my stables be lined?
A.
If you wish, we can line the roof for you. The major benefits here are insulation and some extra support below the Onduline. We use high quality OSB that is manufactured to BS5669, meaning they are moisture resistant. A fully lined roof can be yours for just £165 per 3.6m x 3.6m (12’ x 12’) unit

Q. Cranked Hook & Band Hinges, what are they?
A.
These heavy duty ornate hinges make an attractive alternative to the standard ‘T’ hinges. Add a touch of style to any building for only £25 per pair.

Q. Do i have to move my Mobile Field Shelter/Stable?
A.
Yes the planning authority can make you move the building every 28 days to a different paddock.

Q. Do i need a coloured roof?
A.
Planning conditions may dictate that you do need coloured roofing, or you may wish to marry your new building colour scheme with an existing one. Either way, we can supply Onduline high-quality roofing sheets in red, brown or green to add that finishing touch, for just £50 per 3.6m x3.6m (12’ x 12’) unit.

Q. Do I need to have a course of bricks laid to erect my building on?
A.
We advise against brickwork as JWS and our clients have experienced problems with bricks becoming loose especially on the doorways.

We can provide our unique PLINTH SYSTEM consisting of a galvanised steel plinth and a quality damp proof course, which will protect the bottom of your new building.

We will advise you upon the exact dimension your base needs to be.

Q. Do you deliver to my area?
A.

Anglesey, Avon, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Clwyd, Cornwall, Derbyshire, Devon, Dorset, Dyfed, Essex, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Gwent, Gwynedd, Hampshire, Herefordshire, Hertfordshire, Isle Of Wight, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, London, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Rutland, Shropshire, Somerset, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, South, South West, South East, West Midlands, Midlands, East Midlands, East Anglia,

Q. Do you supply internal stabling for an existing barn that I have?
A.
Yes, we can supply either timber or galvanised steel units.

Q. How can i increase the air flow in my loosebox?
A.
Adding top stable doors to the back of your loosebox is a superb way to increase air flow and reduce your animal’s boredom. This highly recommended quality extra is priced at just £60.

If you do choose a rear door, we would recommend that you also have the Rear Door Anti Chew Strip Package, which runs around the opening, fitted to the door stops as well as the leading edge of the door. All this protection for just £70. We can also supply an anti bite strip that extends 18” down the rear wall for an additional £35.

Q. How many bales of hay will fit into my hay barn?
A.
In a 12' x 24' you will get between 180 & 200 bales.

Q. I am building my own stables do you supply doors & windows?
A.
Top and bottom stable doors, complete with door frames, are available for converting existing buildings to stables and other renovation work. Top doors are just £45, while bottom doors are only £85; the door frames, including door stops, are only £20 each.

The more complex Tack/feed room doors are only £80, while the door frames, including the door stops, are just £20.

Our unique Hopper-type opening window measures 915mm x 610mm (36” x 24”), is fitted with heavy duty weld mesh for safety, and is available with frames for renovation work. The key benefit of this type of window is that it increases airflow to your stable without causing a draught; which makes life better for your horse. Add some extra comfort for only £60 per window, while frames are only £10.

Louvre windows are also available as either 4 blade or 6 blade priced at £95 and £125 respectively.

Q. I would like a slate effect roof?
A.
Slate roofing or any clay tile roof will be very heavy meaning the building will have to be constructed from heavier timbers to take the additional weight, adding more costs.

Alternatively, you may want an attractive FELT SHINGLE ROOFING. Add a touch of originality for just £495 per 3.6m x 3.6m (12’ x 12’) unit.

Q. I would like to create a garage / workshop as part of my stable complex, can this be done?
A.
By using a combination of infill panels and barn doors, you can either enclose the front of your hay barn or add depth to provide useful garage space. The doors are 2400mm (94.25”) wide and 2045mm (80.75”) high; framed, ledged and braced and clad with 5th Scandinavian redwood tanalised shiplap. They are side-hung using 450mm (18”) ‘T’ hinges, and fastened with a galvanised high quality Brenton pad bolt - and they are priced at just £195 per pair.

Our popular infill panels are priced at just £40 per linear metre (approx £12 per foot), and this is a very cost-effective way of adding to the versatility of your new building.

We are also able to supply garaging/ workshops independant of your stable complex.

Q. Is a site visit required before ordering?
A.
As a general rule we do not need to make a site visit as most details can be worked out over the phone. If you would like us to make a site visit a charge may be made.

Q. Is planning permission required for a static building?
A.
If your building is to be erected within the curtalidge of your garden you may not require planning permission. Please contact us for further details.

If your building is to be erected in a paddock you will require planning permission.

We are able to provide you with elevation drawings to support your planning application

Q. My insurance company want a five lever mortice lock fitted to the tack room door and would like to know what other features your Security Pack offer.
A.
Unfortunately in this day and age, everyone has to be concerned about security. For this reason, we offer our hugely popular Security Pack, which features a five lever mortice lock, concealed hinges, internally enclosed trusses and a fully-framed ledge and brace door backed with galvanised steel and mounted in its own frame. Bear in mind that on some insurance policies you will need to have some form of security, so we do recommend this extra for only £395.

Q. What anti chew strips do you include?
A.
We include a 2” bite strip on the top edge of the bottom door on our Ideal range, however you will find that nearly all horses like to chew – especially tasty new wood!

The most common areas for a good gnaw are around the top door opening, the door stop, the leading edge of the top door and down the front of the bottom door. We always recommend that you solve this potential problem with our TOP DOOR ANTI CHEW STRIPS – safety first for only £50 per top door opening and £35 for each standard bottom door.

Q. What are clear roof sheets for?
A.
They are a cost-effective method of adding additional light. Onduline’s sun reflective translucent roof sheets will assist with clipping and other intricate jobs. A worthwhile investment at only £30 per sheet.

Q. What are Foundation Timbers?
A.
In some cases, planning permission restrictions may mean that the preferred alternative is our Foundation Package. Consisting of treated foundation timbers, this inexpensive option may be the perfect solution for you.Priced at just £10 per linear metre (approximately £3 per foot), this includes two hours labour to level and fix these environmentally-friendly foundation timbers.

Q. What are Talk Holes?
A.
These are highly recommended for the social benefits of your horse, as they are a great boredom breaker. They are also a popular and effective way of calming anxious animals, as well as creating greater light and air movement. Created from heavy duty weld mesh, choose from either 840mm x 610mm (33” x 24”) for just £35, or 840mm x 1220mm (33” x 48”) for only £50. Naturally, other sizes are available upon request. On our Elite range these are provided as galvanised steel bars.

Q. What guttering is included with my building?
A.
Guttering is fitted as standard to the front of all our buildings except shelters(optional extra). We offer rear guttering giving you all round drainage for only £10 per linear metre (approx £3 per foot).

Q. What is the plinth system JWS supply?
A.
Our unique Plinth System, consisting of a galvanised steel plinth and a quality damp proof course, which will resiliently protect the bottom of your new building is fitted directly onto your concrete base. We advise against brickwork as JWS and our clients have had problems with buildings moving and bricks coming loose especially on the doorways.

We will advise you upon the exact dimension your base needs to be.

Q. Where should i site my building?
A.
Try not to site them in an extremely exposed position or facing the north wind. Planning officers like to see buildings in groups rather than dotted around the field. Make sure you do not position your buildings in an area that floods. If you are new to the area ask people who live localy.

Q. Would full height kickboards be of benefit in the stable units?
A.
Some horses can chew the uprights on a regular basis. As these are the main frame of the building, this is potentially dangerous – so we recommend you ask for Full Height Kickboards. This peace of mind package on our Ideal range, using our Standard Kickboards of 12mm (1/2”) OSB is just £110, while the Elite range Kickboards of 25mm (1”) OSB are only £195 per 3.6m x 3.6m (12’ x 12’) unit.
